Is it just me, but the plot is suddenly packed with Sam Ho and Hin Yeung scenes? It's like a treat for Charvin fans. :) Am I complaining? A little because I'm SamYi all the way! haha XD
- Ah, it turns out that Sam Ho switches the medicine for Li Yi and his mother. She's a sneaky gal isn't she? Confident that he won't die, Li Yi and his mother take the drink. They are therefore sent to live off separately in a temple. Poor Mary, she looks so relieved when the gate finally closes. Did anyone hold their breath here? I was expecting the Empress to appear and stop them.
- Stupid General Ma tries to frame Hin Yeung's father of having an affair with a maid. I laughed so hard at his father's face. He is freaked out!! But of course the witty Hin Yeung solves the case with little effort.
However, this event serves as an obstacle for Hin Yeung and Sam Ho's growing affection. Since Sam Ho is a servant, she is deemed not deserving the attention of someone higher, like Hin Yeung.
- Gosh, so Mandy dies just like that? I HATE YOU General Ma!! But then again, Mandy's character is too nice to live in the palace (unlike Sam Ho who has connection XD). Kam Ling learns about the pills that Mandy has been serving the King which later causes him to vomit blood and tells the Empress.
- Seriously, one of the biggest flaw of this drama is FORCING Kam Ling to be evil. It's like they're trying to say her actions are justified later on. BUT Some are and some aren't. I mean if it was Sam Ho, she wouldn't be punished at all. I got annoyed when the four heads keep pouring fuel into the fire. If only the script was a little more equal to ALL the palace maids, then people wouldn't find it 'unrealistic' that Sam Ho always manages to escape punishment.
- The adorable Master Po (I love him!!) finds out the Empress's plan to kill Li Yi and his mother. He reveals it to Sam Ho who later tells Hin Yeung. Righteous as he is, Hin Yeung decides to save the poor Mother & Son. I actually quite like Moses fighting scene. His build body compliments the power in every punch. Hin Yeung then gives him the handkerchief Sam Ho made. OMG! THAT is so cute!! She embroidered (??) two sweet lotus seeds onto it!! Love item!! ^_^
- As Hin Yeung is hurt, Sam Ho risks being caught and stays the whole night to take care of him. She returns later and is caught by Kam Ling.
- Sam Ho finally reveals that she likes Hin Yeung and Kam Ling comforts her saying that it's okay to love someone like Hin Yeung. C'mon, he's nice and he's handsome. But this couple bores me.... -___- They're just too quiet and traditional...
Sometimes I do feel the chemistry but it's not from Sam Ho and Hin Yeung. Rather from their sparks in "Forensic Heroes 2". (Yes, I adore them in there) And I know that a lot of people have been complaining about their lack of chemistry. I concur. Somehow it just doesn't click in Beyond.
- WHOA! I totally went WHOA here! When did their love intensify? Someone gives me a scene! He's asking her to run away with him! He's willing to sacrifice his family, his name and everything for her? Their love is THAT DEEP? ALREADY? When is this?
Gosh, scriptwriters, when you write their love story, do you not feel STRANGE? Disconnected? WHY WHY WHY? Well, so far this is the only scene that Kevin has a different expression...
Other than Charmaine, I feel bad for Kevin as well. I think among the cast, he's receiving the least love from viewers. He's also receiving a lot of criticisms as well, same goes to Charmaine. Their characters are really mirrors of each other. Perfect, kind-hearted, righteous. There's rarely a chance for development and that's what the viewers want to see. What a flawed script.
- Awww I totally went AWW here!! The bond between Sam Ho and Kam Ling!! So genuine and heart-felt!!
- General Ma kills off the emperor and brings back Li Yi, hoping to become the future puppet master.
We are also introduced to General Ma's student, Mun Ghim Fung (played by Cheung Kwok Keung).
- Li Yi becomes king but the Empress comes to disturb...
